Report considers supply chain IT spending

Thursday, 05/8/2010 12:30
The IT spending behaviour of those working in supply chain strategy and sales efficiency improvement positions is considered in a new report.

International Data Corporation's (IDC's) latest study Hot Topics Shaping ICT Demand in Western European Verticals in 2010 and 2011 groups issues into four areas, including supply chain, regulation and customer innovation.

The study suggested that low single-digit growth in IT spending will be seen during 2010, while a more moderate recovery will be seen in the following year.

Giuliana Folco, vice-president of IDC European Vertical Markets, said companies are set to look for trusted partners to help them solve problems.

She added: "For companies in all verticals, including the public sector, risk transparency and short-term, demonstrable return on investment will be essential requirements."

Last week, software company Oracle announced the launch of a new application designed to improve the integrity of supply chain services in the pharmaceutical industry.
