Companies that have worked hard to improve their supply chain strategies have been recognised on the shortlist of an upcoming awards ceremony.
SupplyChainStandard.com has revealed the 60 nominees for the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2010, with a number of firms across a variety of sectors being shortlisted for their work in the field of logistics planning.
Among the firms mentioned are communication providers such as Virgin Media, Vodafone and BSkyB, as well as car manufacturers including Ford and Toyota.
Set to take place on November 18th, the awards event will be held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel and is expected to be presented by comedian and TV personality Rufus Hound.
The shortlist also includes Deutsche Post DHL, which recently revealed that its supply chain division performed well across the second quarter of 2010.
Revenues for the subsidiary reached €3.4 billion (£2.81 billion) over the three-month period, which was a ten per cent rise from 12 months earlier.
