The retail global industry executive for Sterling Commerce has won a supply chain industry award.

Sterling announced yesterday (March 24th) that Jim Bengier had been recognised as a Provider Pro at the annual Supply & Demand Chain Executive awards for the second year running.

The industry publication acknowledged Mr Bengier's stringent efforts to help retailers to make the very best of their supply chains during the economic downturn.

Last year, he headed up the project which created the Cross-Channel Retailing Consortium, which helps to bolster the "selling and fulfilment processes to improve the customer experience and reduce costs".

He also played an important role in bringing forth Sterling Integrator for Retailers and Sterling e-Invoicing.

Andrew Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, was full of praise for all the hard work that the executive had put in and applauded his accomplishments.

He said: "Jim Bengier has leveraged his extensive supply chain background to lead the industry in embracing cross-channel execution and supplier empowerment to manage through the current downturn."
