Yorkshire consulting firm Scala has trialled an interactive supply chain workshop with the University of Huddersfield and pupils from Rastrick High School, reports LogisticsManager.com
As part of its Young Fresh Connection scheme, students studying for the BTEC level three in business studies, were put through an online simulation with the task of changing the fortunes of a failing fruit juice supplier.
"Young Fresh Connection proved to be a dynamic simulation that our students got their teeth into and were able to see the impact of their individual decision-making on the success of their team outcomes," said Rebecca Sohotha, subject leader for economics, business and enterprise at Rastrick High School.
It is the third year in succession that Scala have engaged with young people using its Young Fresh Connection projectand it is planning another scheme for March 2012.
A competition based on similar principles was held during the summer and won by Mars (UK).
