Balfour to begin supply chain tutorials

Balfour Beatty is to set up a nuclear power station supply chain training course, aimed at providing those companies involved in the construction of the UK's newest power stations with the best knowledge possible.

Balfour Beatty has been involved with the construction of nuclear power stations for some time, and with the buy out of British Energy by EDF Energy, England is on course to have several more built in the next 12 years.

Supply chain management is crucial to any organisation, no matter what size, and best practice sharing is highly valuable to all companies involved with a supply chain.

Andrew McNaughton, Balfour's chief operating officer, said in a YourNuclearNews.com report: "We will be going through an education process to inform the supply chain of what is required of them.

"We will be looking at what skills and resources are needed."

Any organisation hoping to improve or cut costs within its own supply chain should investigate supply chain management companies, which can offer first hand experience of managing both large and small supply chains.
