Burberry has revealed that its SAP system is now delivering benefits with an improved supply chain helping to boost the fashion designer's profits by about £20 million.
As a result of the successful scheme, the label is looking to expand its SAP system to its operations in the US and Asia.
A statement from the company said that the second half of 2007 saw the implementation of the new IT infrastructure as well as new developments in supply chain logistics.
"The new SAP platform was used to sell, procure and ship Spring/Summer 2008 products and the retail selling system in Europe," the statement read.
"Although typical data and process issues arose, the project is now starting to deliver very early benefits, especially in the core central product and merchandising functions," it continued.
Manufacturing Computer Solutions reports that its wider programme delivered £20m benefits to profits, much of which was achieved through efficiency in its supply chain.
