Businesses look to promote integration

A number of companies are hoping that their supply chain management skills will be able to help them succeed in a supply chain competition.

Teams from different areas of business are due to work together to ensure success in The Fresh Connection competition.

Customer logistics director of Cadbury's GB & Ireland Keith Newton said: "The Fresh Connection provides us with an excellent opportunity to enable some of our talented people from across our supply chain teams to practice working and learning together in an integrated and collaborative way."

The competition is designed to highlight the benefits of different areas working together in order to ensure that a supply chain is as efficient as possible.

The supply chain competition will begin on April 12th; there will be six rounds over a period of six weeks, with companies battling to stop a fictional fruit juice production company from collapsing.

Although this is the first year the competition has run in the UK, it has taken place in other countries in recent years.
