Energy company EDF is looking to boost its supply chain strategy by hosting an upcoming open meeting which will give prospective partners the opportunity to sign up.
The event is set to take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster and will give firms an opportunity to become part of the supply chain for its £20 billion nuclear construction programme.
A spokesman for the company said that speakers will provide an update of the current position for the £500 million Hinkley Point and the town new reactors at Sizewell C.
"Presentations in the afternoon will be led by key EDF Energy staff from engineering and will focus on the codes and standards to be used to help companies understand the requirements for working on the project," the representative explained.
Meanwhile, speakers and attendees at the UK Offshore Wind conference, which took place in Liverpool recently, said that formulating the correct supply chain strategy will be of the utmost importance in the coming months as the alternative energy industry looks to move on following the economic downturn.
