Bob Ostryniec has been appointed to the new role of chief supply chain officer at global food brand HJ Heinz.
The creation of the new role highlights the growing importance of global supply chain efficiency.
In his new role, Mr Ostryniec will drive global initiatives to reduce costs and enhance productivity by leveraging the company's global scale.
"Bob's appointment reflects his exceptional performance in optimising saving and efficiency in the company's North American supply chain while building best-in-class supply chain processes," said chairman, president and CEO of the firm William R Johnson.
In his new role, Mr Ostryniec will be responsible for partnering with regional supply chain leaders to develop a strong competitive advantage in global markets. He will also be responsible for building supply chain processes and systems that are the best in class.
He has been chief supply chain officer for North America at Heinz since 2005, but now takes on this new role to extend global supply chain efficiencies through process improvements.
