Technology distributor and sales company Ingram Micro announced this week the winners of its 2008 Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
A total of 26 vendors across the US and Canada were awarded with gongs for a series of achievements, in a ceremony which highlighted the importance of supply chain efficiency.
Some of the top awards were 'Best in Class Logistics Performance', 'Outstanding Overall Supply Chain Improvement' and 'Outstanding Performance in Damage Reduction', and were awarded to the selected companies on Wednesday (March 25th).
Keith Bradley, president of Ingram Micro North America, said: "We are pleased to recognise and reward those vendor partners that went above and beyond to reach new milestones in overall efficiency, waste reduction, cycle time improvements and increased inventory availability."
Supply chains are increasingly being brought to the forefront of business' operations, as the recession means that costs must be cut and efficiencies are sought after.
As such, a small or medium sized company may wish to consult a supply chain management company, which can help ensure a business has the most effective supply chain during the economic downturn.
