Innovative Logistics has been put up for sale by Eimskip, who blamed £58.9 million of losses and tough market conditions.
The parent company said that it had entered into long-term lease agreements for warehouses and transportation systems, although recent market conditions had affected the situation.
Reports from Road Transport indicate that the firm's lease and financial costs had increased significantly in the recent months.
But John Manners-Bell, a chief analyst at Transport Intelligence, said that the issue was not related to Innovate but "more to do with the financing of Icelandic companies".
"I think there will be a number of companies interested in buying," he told the website.
Meanwhile, NFT Distribution is one of several firms eyeing up the company.
The firm, which specialises in distributing items at controlled temperatures, told the website that it had been approached with regard to the sale of the chilled assets section.
