Employees of United Arab Emirates-based (UAE) corporations are now able to take advantage of training at the University of Bolton, in Ras Al Khaimah, for a Masters degree (M.Sc) in Supply Chain Management, it has been reported.

The M.Sc will train employees of companies which deal with international supply chains and logistics skills that will ensure their companies are running as efficiently as possible.

The director of admissions at the University of Bolton, Ras Al Khaimah explained: "This M.Sc programme aims to address the needs of both the manufacturing and service sectors with an integrated and comprehensive programme in the supply chain and its management."

Supply chain management has become a hot topic in recent years with consumers demanding more from their products in terms of ethical considerations and green status.

International supply chains have also been put under pressure by soaring costs of transport due to rises in the cost of oil.

For any company wishing to improve its own supply chain management, outsourcing such a role to a third party may in fact be the best course of action, as a third party management company will be staffed by efficient and knowledgeable managers.
