According to Decom North Sea chief executive Brian Nixon, speaking at the major Offshore North Sea oil & gas industry exhibition in Stavanger, an upcoming a major mapping exercise to help the supply chain benefit from the £25-30 billion of North Sea work forecast for the future.

"To ensure a vibrant and sustainable capability, the industry needs to evolve innovative contracting models, able to stimulate progressive improvements and efficiency gains. A cohesive approach is needed to ensure effective management and mitigation of the various risks," Mr Nixon explained.

It comes after the Freight Transport Association gave its backing to an announcement by DFDS Seaways, which has confirmed it is set to offer two dedicated freight vessels on the route.
