Global logistics firm UPS has highlighted some of the changes it has made to its worldwide supply chain in a bid to reduce its environmental impact.
The company revealed how reducing its impact on the planet was likely to enhance its standing among customers and noted that these supply chain measures have reaped rewards.
Scott Davis, UPS's chairman and chief executive, explained how it developed the world's first paperless solution for generating international shipping documentation digitally, which not only helped the company meet its environmental goals but also improved order accuracy while saving time and money.
"Package delivery will always be the foundation of our business, but today UPS can do so much more for its customers. Our extensive logistics solutions can help big corporations become more nimble," he added.
This Wednesday (September 15th), an event at the Confederation of British Metalforming's head office in West Bromwich will aim to provide 25 firms with information about how to improve their competitiveness through process efficiency and reducing their energy usage.
