Supermarket chain Waitrose has announced it has extended its supply chain management deal with JF Hillebrand for its wine division.
The new three-year deal adds to the companies' existing ten-year relationship and will see logistics provider JF Hillebrand manage every aspect of Waitrose's wine imports and bring about continuous improvement.
Andrew Shaw, buying manager for wines at Waitrose, said the agreement will create a "responsive and robust" supply chain and help reduce stockholding - something he described as a critical factor in enabling growth.
David Mawer, managing director of JF Hillebrand UK, added: "We are extremely proud to be appointed as Waitrose's solus partner and are very much looking forward to this next stage of growth and development of Waitrose's global wine beverage supply chain."
Last week, the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service said that the country's whisky industry has plenty of room for continuous improvement in its supply chain.
