Supply chain transport planning is one of the key areas that London excels and draws in many companies looking for sites to place their new headquarters, an expert has claimed.
Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the British Council for Offices, has highlighted the capital's excellent air, road and rail routes as a key draw for many companies looking to expand.
He highlighted the fact that London is one of only two "world cities" and so is always on the shortlist of possible options.
Other features that serve to draw in firms include the excellent workforce that the city has access to and the amenities that it offers.
Mr Kauntze added: "It's a very heady mix and makes it an ideal location for so many businesses. The down side of it of course is the cost, it is expensive, it is competitive, but we get the full package."
The Financial Times recently reported that reliability and punctuality have replaced speed as the biggest concern for companies engaged in
logistics transport planning.
