Insurance company reveals high hopes for supply chain management

American health insurer Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC) has announced its tie-up to a supply chain management company in order to transform its strategic sourcing and procurement processes.

HCSC also hopes to increase its leadership position in the industry through creating a more efficient and better-serving supply chain.

Supply chains are increasingly coming to the forefront of the cost cutting arena in many businesses.

With oil prices fluctuating and environmental issues dominating consumers' purchasing choice, businesses now face multiple options in ways to increase performance.

Cutting costs in a supply chain or making a product more green through a change to a supply chain can be one of the largest tasks taken on by a company and so contacting a third-party supply chain management company may offer insight into best practise.

A supply chain management company could offer not only years of experience and expertise but also the contacts required to ensure a smooth transition into a new working method.
