In a move that will likely see the creation of jobs in the supply chain industry, Miller Construction has been awarded a multi-million pound contract to build a top university facility.
The company has been assigned the task of constructing the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine.
The building will be a three-storey construction and will provide technical research bio-medical facilities spread over 96,000 sq ft.
It will be the first building to be out up on the 100-acre Edinburgh BioQuarter site.
Brian McQuade, joint managing director for Miller Construction, said that the company was extremely pleased to have been given the project.
"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract from the University of Edinburgh," he commented. "This is a prestigious building on an important site which will further enhance the University of Edinburghs reputation for global leadership in this field."
The deal to build the centre for the University of Edinburgh is worth £54 million.
