NY uni introduces online supply chain MBA

New York's Clarkson University has announced the introduction of a new online supply chain MBA course.

Introducing the new MBA, business dean Timothy Sugrue said that the online course is a combination of the on-campus supply chain programme and the engineering and global operations management (EGOM) course, offering students a collection of skills.

The introduction of the online supply chain MBA is a nod to the growing importance of supply chain management.

Supply chains have been growing increasingly global, but with the recession hitting industry hard there are likely to be many businesses taking a fresh approach to the set up of a supply chain.

Companies hoping to adapt their own supply chain management could benefit from working alongside a supply chain management company, which could use third-party experience to ensure best practice is enjoyed.

"Through EGOM we have gotten quite good at graduate education by distance," said Mr Sugrue.

"Through the online MBA, we'll be able to bring our cutting edge supply chain knowledge, coupled with our solid MBA foundation, to fully employed professions at a time and place that they need it most."
