IGD conducted research which it then provided to the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) for a presentation at the group's Executive Education Program conference, held in the Netherlands.
Mala Morris, senior supply chain analyst at IGD, made a speech detailing the findings and noted the businesses will continue to focus on unlocking value from the supply chain.
There is also an ongoing drive to simplify processes in order to boost performance, while demand volatility will continue to occupy the thoughts of key actors in the chain.
In addition, Ms Morris said building supply chain engagement will become critical for firms looking to collaborate with customers.
Sustainability will also come back onto the radar, with legislation encouraging protagonists at all levels of the supply chain to consider their environmental impact.
