Supply & Demand Top 100 announces more best practice

Tuesday, 05/8/2008 04:41
The Supply and Demand Chain Executive 100 (SDC100) has this week announced a new entry in to its 'hall of fame', as it is perceived in the industry.

The latest in a long line of companies to be highlighted by the SDC100 is one which has brought in technology which enables companies to track and trace the process of their goods, from one stage of manufacture to the next.

Occurring annually, the SDC100 is effective in highlighting new or groundbreaking work carried out by those in the supply chain management field, and often serves to widen awareness of best practice.

Andrew Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, said: "The supply chain is continually evolving.

"Manufacturers and distributors who are continually being challenged to meet new market conditions, global supply network complexities and industry regulations while continuing to achieve long-term business value, need technologies that can keep pace."

The announcement comes in the same week that electronics company LG announced its plans to streamline its complex supply chain, in order to reduce its exposure to fraud or theft, a practice the industry will be watching closely across the world.
