Hong Kong mobile phone operator CSL has announced it has contracted a supply chain management company to review its current supply chain organisation.
CSL has stated that there are many benefits to its decision to work with an outside company in order to save money and improve the company's responsiveness to changing markets.
In a statement quoted on NetworkWorld.com, Tarek Robbiati, chief executive officer of CSL, said: "This supply chain partnership agreement
forms an essential part of CSL's multi-brand strategy.
"It improves our competitiveness and ability to quickly respond to market changes in the fast-moving and most competitive mobile market in Hong Kong."
Hong Kong has one of the most dynamic technology markets in the world, and change happens rapidly, meaning supply chains must be flexible if they are to provide companies with the advantages needed in order to maintain a lead over competitors.
Supply chain management is increasingly becoming a central part of business operations, and with the UK officially in recession there will be added reasons to ensure a company is maximising its resources, and eliminating any unnecessary or ineffective costs.
