National management committee 'Committee of 200' (C200), is celebrating following a successful panel discussion led by Ann Drake, a logistics company CEO.
The panel led by Ms Drake marked the first time a C200 panel had chosen supply chain issues as a topic to discuss.
"The feedback from the panel was very positive and several attendees remarked that they came away with a new perspective on the supply chain's value as a strategic business tool," said Ms Drake.
"With supply chain best practices resulting in a ten per cent cost advantage, there is huge economic potential in an efficient and flexible supply chain."
Certainly, supply chains in the 21st century are more important than ever as ethical, environmental and socio-political issues all combine to add pressure to companies producing goods.
To lead the adaptation of a strong supply chain it may be advised that a company contacts a third-party supply chain management system, which can offer both insight and experience.
