The supply chain in 2012

Wednesday, 04/1/2012 05:39
In 2012 the supply chain will become more centralised in terms of command and control, according to experts within the field.

A number of predictions highlighted by Industry Leaders Magazine highlighted that the supply chain will need to change in the coming year to address issues which have arisen in recent months.

One of the expected changes is that a single view of the supply chain needs to be developed to ensure that all contrasting areas are working together. It is thought that new technologies will help achieve this.

The magazine also predicted that the supply chain will become more flexible. "The supply chain industry will be required to exhibit a level of two-way flexibility, so that it can address the wide reach of production, as well as the rising mix of customers," it stated.

It also suggested that social media may start to play a role in the supply chain, allowing companies to stay connected with customers and partners in an easy manner.ADNFCR-1654-ID-801255557-ADNFCR
