Bristol could face problems due to its poor
supply chain warehouse design, it has been suggested.
Jonathan Allen, distribution and warehouse specialist developer Colliers International, has told Bristol 24/7 that the city is suffering a major shortage of large distribution buildings.
His comments follow the letting of one of the few remaining warehouses that are available in the city by JJ Food Service.
Mr Aitken said that this will mean that some firms will need to look elsewhere when deciding on
logistics warehouse design.
"With no speculative development going on, there is a real danger of the city losing out on distribution business in the future," he explained.
The expert added that this has a history of happening where developers have been reluctant to commit to new schemes.
Earlier this month, research vice president at Gartner Steve Steutermann claimed companies that invest in their
supply chain strategy often outstrip their competitors.
