DHL Supply Chain receives extension to O2 contract

O2 has extended its supply chain outsourcing deal with DHL for an additional three years, it has been revealed.

The firm's parent company, Telefonica UK, announced the continuation of its existing contract as well as reverse logistics services.

The contract is worth £40 million and will include distributing products to retailers and supplying goods to business and home customers.

Nick Lefever, head of business operations at Telefonica UK, highlighted the supply chain strategy capabilities of its partner as a factor in the decision.

He said: "The range of innovative services that DHL has implemented and its clear understanding of our company objectives were key to our extending the contract."

DHL Supply Chain managing director Paul Richardson said he was "delighted" of the deal struck with Telefonica, which he attributed to the natural cultural fit that both firms hold in common with one another.

Earlier this month, House of Fraser announced that it was awarding DHL Supply Chain an extension on its logistics process development contract.
