An upcoming event will provide advice to firms about entering the renewables sector supply chain.
Taking place at the Stadium of Light, in Sunderland on September 23rd, it will be hosted by Durham City-based NOF Energy, an energy sector business development organisation.
Among the topics discussed at the event will be the offshore wind marketplace and it will provide an insight into ScottishPower Renewables and Iberdrola Renewables' business activities, as well as discussing the sector's supply chain requirements.
NOF's Round 3 programme director, Jason Martin, who will host the seminar, told the Northern Echo: "The UK has companies and a workforce with the potential to play key roles in offshore renewables and I hope this event will encourage many of them to get involved."
Earlier this week, business minister Mark Prisk was present to launch an exhibition which will focus on the UK's engineering sector and is designed to encourage a new generation of innovators.
