The prime minister has promised to aid the wind energy industry with its supply chain, it has been reported.
Speaking to the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA) at its annual conference this week, Gordon Brown announced that he would "seek that the supply chain can meet demand".
The supply chain will certainly need a lot of attention in the coming months and years if BWEA is to achieve the government's goal of making sure one third of Britain's electricity is supplied by wind energy by 2020.
There is also an issue concerning the number of engineers available in the industry, meaning the targets are looking particularly difficult.
Maria McCaffery, chief executive at the BWEA, told the Telegraph: "It's tough, but just about achievable.
"But how close we can get to the target depends on what happens in the next few years. It's not guaranteed, but it's too soon to be defeatist."
Contacting a supply chain management company could open up new ways of managing a supply chain, in order to both reduce costs and improve efficiency.
