Tea and coffee merchant Taylors of Harrogate is attempting to improve its supply chain efficiency.

The company, which produces brands such as Yorkshire Tea, has bought a number of new solutions to the table, including Infor's SCM Demand Planning and SCM Advanced Scheduler as well as PLM Optiva product lifestyle management software.

Lindsay Botto, the operations director at Taylors, said: "To keep pace with our continued growth we needed to explore new options that would enhance our business processes.

"With a proven track record for success in the food and beverage industry coupled with strong, flexible solutions, we are confident that Infor's SCM and PLM solutions will form the backbone of our enhanced production and supply chain operations."

He added that he hoped the solutions would help to ensure better productivity through better scheduling and ensure that the tea and coffee reaching the shelves would have as long a shelf-life as possible.

Taylors of Harrogate was founded in 1886 and is now one of the only tea and coffee merchants left in the UK.
