Logistics firm rocking around the Christmas trees

Monday, 19/12/2011 05:25
Logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle has been handling a contract which is filling it with festive cheer.

Since November, the firm has been managing the import and distribution of Christmas trees to the UK from Belgium on behalf for retail company Needlefresh Direct.

As part of the deal, Norbert D entressangle is responsible for the carriage of the trees to growers’ sites in Hereford and Basingstoke before then transporting them to supermarkets and independent retailers across the country.

“Obviously this is a seasonal business with very tight time scales so we need a transport provider that we could trust to react quickly and provide a reliable solution. While efficiency is imperative, Norbert Dentressangle is also ensuring careful loading and handling of the trees so that they reach our customers in excellent pre-sale condition,” said Christopher Hood, director of Needlefresh.

And it must be all systems go as report in the Daily Mail this month suggests that the average UK family has three Christmas trees in their home.
