A protest to highlight the lack of government support for Birmingham based van maker LDV has taken place.
Put People First suggested that as little as £30 million could help save the company and in turn save thousands of jobs in the supply chain.
Derek Simpson, the joint general secretary of the Unite Union, said: "To talk about the relatively small amount of money compared to the billions in banks - a few million to this particular company could see the survival of 900 jobs and thousands in the supply chain."
The van company has not made a profit in four years and suspended production in December.
According to the government, the taxpayer should not help the company out of its financial troubles.
In an effort to turn around the company, LDV has suggested that it is hoping to become the country's biggest electric van producer.
A management buyout team claimed that the company did have a future.
