Outskirts of inner London 'attractive to businesses'

The outskirts of inner London are highly attractive to businesses, which could require firms to rethink their logistics transport planning.

Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the British Council for Offices (BCO), has stated that the traditional divide between inner and outer London has eroded and created new opportunities for businesses based in the fringe area between these boundaries.

He said that areas such as Paddington have been changed by development projects in the area and become far more attractive recently.

"Some significant business office occupiers have moved in and it is an area that is very close to the centre of London," he explained.

Mr Kauntze predicted that the Kings Cross area is also likely to undergo similar changes following the completion of developments in the area.

Last month, the BCO's chief executive highlighted the supply chain transport planning opportunities that London presents as a key part of the capital's appeal to firms looking to establish a new headquarters.
