Cost-cutting measures have become increasingly important to many companies at the moment.
Those that are looking to cut down fuel charges, especially those in the haulage industry, have been given some advice by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
Every litre counts, the IAM states, and there are some easy steps that can be taken to reduce outgoings.
Peter Rodger, the chief examiner of IAM, said: "Simple measure such as looking well ahead and slowing down earlier, rather than always using the brakes to slow down can make a real difference.
"A smoother driving style is the best eco-driving tip. This stars with safer driving and anticipation."
Other suggestions made by the institute include sticking to 70mph instead of 80mph, which can save around 4p a mile and making sure that tyre pressure is correct.
It is also important to switch off air conditioning and heated windows when they aren't needed
