Food manufacturer Nestle Middle East (NME) yesterday (March 4th) celebrated the go-live of its latest co-ordination of business architecture.
One of the world's leading food manufacturers, Nestle relies on many distributors and NME itself interacts with five third-party distribution companies which cover Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Dubai, so the need to standardise the software used by NME was critical.
NME chose to outsource the responsibility of standardising the distribution architecture to a third-party supply chain management company.
Outsourcing to an external supply chain management party has immense benefits to companies hoping to increase efficiencies within their own organisation as it allows internal management to continue to focus on issues within the business.
It also ensures a fresh approach is taken to the management of a supply chain, which can maximise the number of adaptations made.
Roberto Mennilli, supply chain director of NME said: "We are very satisfied with the results and even more with the continuous support that we are receiving."
"The successful implementation of the project resulted in the elimination of paper and email documents, full data integrity and a high visibility on the purchasing and order fulfilment process," added a statement o the press.
