Supply Chain Summit centre for talks in Dubai

To inform the media about a new business park under development in Abu Dhabi, Saeed Al Mulla, vice president of the Business Park Development at Abu Dhabi Airports Company, chose to speak at the Supply Chain Management and Cargo Management Summit held this week.

Highlighting the importance of supply chain management within industry, Mr Mulla chose the summit, which took place on November 17th and 18th at the Raffles Hotel, Dubai, to announce details of the new business park.

"In addition to its obvious convenience through its proximity to the airport apron, Abu Dhabi International Airport is well placed for ease of access to the two major cities in the UAE; only 30 minutes from the new Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi, and 45 minutes from Jebel Ali, Dubai," explained Mr Mulla.

The geographical location of the speech was also significant, as oil price fluctuations are currently adding pressure to supply chain management work, and members of the Opec nations such as the United Arab Emirates have spoken about the possibility of cutting production.

In an increasingly complex supply chain management world many companies may benefit from contracting a third-party supply chain management company to assist in the facilitation of a supply chain.
