Calvin Klein has been forced to address its supply chain issues in the wake of the credit crunch, it has been claimed.
While the business has been pressured to use technology to change its automation and supply chain processes as well as reducing overheads, the firm is finding plenty of other ways to streamline its supply chain.
As the firm attempts to reduce overheads in difficult conditions it has opted to use a series of back-office projects.
According to Francesco Forni, head of IT in the European division, the firm has interfaced its underwear business with the central retail database as well as refreshing its system for the replacement of jeans products.
This is working alongside business intelligence to streamline the business systems.
"The idea is to optimise staff time and avoid time wasting on inventories and reporting, so we are looking at mobile solutions to enable faster data access," he explained.
