The Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 has announced another company to its list of top 100 innovators.
The award is one of the most prestigious to be given to supply chain
managers, and is announced annually.
This year's addition to the 100 most innovative procedures however has
been two fold, with two separate technologies winning the attention of
the judges.
Addressing the challenge of managing and enabling supplier catalogues
with multiple data formats and standards has been one of the key issues
in the successful clinching of the award.
The technology has lead to "less disruption, increased compliance and
accuracy, as well as shortened order and invoice cycle times", according to the judges.
Secondly, accounts payable improvements nudged the company closer to the goal.
The nomination shows that there is always an area of a supply chain
which can be improved.
With green and ethical issues both pushing to the front of a company's
marketing to the consumer in the past few years, a supply chain is now
one of the first areas to come under scrutiny from buyers when looking
to see if their product has been ethically produced.
