Members of the crude oil industry are being offered training courses that focus on the essential nature of having a supply chain which is cost effective.
According to a report in Oil Voice, a training school in Cambridgeshire will be taking oil industry delegates through the process of the supply chain, including the "crude oil supply terminal…transportation, refining, and the trading to the refined product distribution terminal".
The course will be taught by assigning delegates to work for a fictional oil company. The employees will then be tasked with making the supply chain as cost effective as possible.
Such courses emphasise the importance put on modern logistics, as more and more it is being recognised that a well-managed supply chain is crucial to the smooth, and cost-effective, operation of a business.
