Reducing paper a key to efficiency and cost-saving

Reducing reliance on paper is one way most companies have thought about saving costs but paper use can nearly always be reduced further, one IT expert has said.

Sustainable IT expert Ted Samson has published a report detailing the benefits of automated invoicing, which could save both supplier and recipient money in postal costs.

Reducing any form of paper use, either in-house or between two companies, is one way of reducing supply chain management costs as sending invoices by courier, first-class mail or secure post will cost a company dearly over the course of a year.

Contracting a supply chain management company can help a company increase its efficiency and decrease the waste it produces, either through paper use or through any other material use.

And with the environment becoming more of an issue in recent years, the opportunity to reduce waste is not only a means of saving money but also a chance to improve a company's credentials, making its product more desirable among the growing group of environmentally-aware consumers.
