Presenter and journalist Kate Silverton has been chosen to host the Freight Transport Association's inaugural Logistics Showcase next month.
The TV personality will oversee proceedings as key figures and representatives from the freight industry come together to celebrate their achievements.
Scheduled to take place in Birmingham on April 13th, the Logistics Showcase is being run by the FTA to highlight the positive impact of the sector on British lives.
Spokesman for the organisation Jo Tanner said it is all about bringing the industry's many achievements and vital role within the UK economy "to centre stage".
"Logistics deserves to be headline news for the massive part it plays in keeping our homes, shops, hospitals and businesses running," she stated.
"So who better than Kate Silverton to present the sectors very own night of celebration."
Earlier this week, the FTA called on the government to back the logistics sector by showing its commitment to a safer, greener and more prosperous future economy.
The organisation said ministers must continue to invest in UK transport infrastructure, revise the tax regime for commercial vehicles and provide greater low-carbon incentives in order to support the industry.
