Those interested in the continuous improvement of transport planning and logistics strategies may be interested in a new system that aims to make such processes safer.
Unveiled this week by automotive technology group Alpine, the new Multi Camera system allows drivers of commercial vehicles to view around corners with a front-mounted gadget that transmits images to an internal screen.
The device offers better vision on blind corners, as well as a "top view" that can aid larger vehicles in tight manoeuvres and parking.
Alpine spokesman Keith Price explained: "According to insurance data, the vast majority of accidents involving lorries happen on motorways and many are a result of the HGV being left-hand drive
causing a blind spot on the right of their vehicle."
It is hoped the new package will be fully available to transport operators within the next three years.
Alpine also deals in a number of other in-vehicle solutions, such as audio equipments and navigational devices.
