Global
logistics strategy and transportation solutions provider Aramex has unveiled its first Carbon Footprint Report, expressing its plans to boost environmental sustainability.
The research found that Aramex has reduced fuel consumption by 24 per cent since 2006, while 72 tonnes of paper have been saved via the automation of internal processes, enforcement of printing restrictions and the utilisation of its intranet forum.
Fadi Ghandour, founder and chief executive officer of Aramex, said: "Our first carbon footprint report opens the door for regional corporations to follow suite, and facilitate transparent dialogue concerning corporate sustainable business practices, performance and commitments."
Mr Ghandour noted that the report represents another strategic plan towards reiterating the company's commitment to minimising its environmental impact.
The report follows the news that logistics firm Norbert Dentressangle has been managing the import of Christmas trees from Belgium on behalf of the retail company Needlefresh Direct.
