DHL has announced it is to expand its graduate recruitment operations into Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), in an effort to keep up with the changing landscape of globalised supply chains.
The move represents the changing face of supply chain management in the 21st century, as issues such as fluctuating oil prices, environmental considerations, ethical manufacturing and fair trade are all now high in the priorities of supply chain managers.
Alison Bending, graduate programme manager at DHL Exel Supply Chain EMEA, said: "We have developed a world-class graduate programme which we believe will put us at the forefront of
training and development in the logistics industry."
Medium-sized companies may wish instead to deal with the changes facing supply chain management by looking to a third party supply chain management company, which can offer insight and expertise.
Third party supply chain management companies can help to ensure a company is making the most efficient decisions regarding its use of logistics and may point out flaws unseen from inside the company.
