Meeting mandatory driving training requirements is a top concern for Freight Transport Association (FTA) members, according to recent research.
As a result, the body is urging companies to act now so that their training requirements do not build up into a backlog.
Nic Allen, the FTA's general manager of training, said: "FTA members have identified Driver CPC training as their greatest concern, along with fuel duty and transport costs.
"In order to alleviate anxiety, companies should act now to ensure that they do not miss out on the highest quality courses available."
She added that if companies fail to plan ahead there is a risk that demand for Driver CPC training will outstrip supply by 2014.
Ms Allen continued to say that Driver CPC is a great way for drivers to improve their fuel efficiency, safe loading practices, customer service and hours compliance.
Last month, the FTA criticised the government's plans to make eco-driving training mandatory as part of Driver CPC training, saying it would be "counterintuitive".
