The election manifestos laid out by the main political parties fail to address the needs and concerns of the logistics sector, it has been claimed.
According to the Freight Transport Association (FTA), none of the three leading parties has yet made a clear and long-term commitment to helping the industry.
In its own Logistics Manifesto, the organisation stressed the importance of infrastructure investment for the good of the UK economy.
However, with under a month to go until the General Election, "vagaries and unanswered questions" are still rife.
FTA's Jo Tanner said the parties have had their say on areas such as high-speed rail, aviation and road pricing, but all have failed to make a firm commitment.
"What is clearly lacking is a joined-up commitment to improving infrastructure," she stated.
"You simply cannot deliver an efficient supply chain by focusing on one mode of transport at the cost of others."
Ms Tanner's comments come after the FTA last month welcomed chancellor Alistair Darling's Budget pledge to spend £285 million on UK motorways to help ease congestion.
