With supply chain management and logistics planning become more and more integral parts of the modern business model, the Freight Transport Association (FTA) is set to hold its 2008 Port Logistics Conference.
The conference will be held on November 11th and will cover important issues concerning port logistics including improving port performance, the role of ports in regional development and supply lines from the ports.
Other issues covered will include Europe's trade agenda, trade expectations and future developments in port security, all of which will concern supply chain managers.
The event will be chaired by Containerisation International editor John Fossey and will be attended by all of the major stakeholders in delivering efficient and flexible ports.
FTA members will pay £309 plus VAT for the first delegate and £260 plus VAT for each subsequent delegate, while non-members will pay £370 plus VAT for the first and £330 plus VAT for each subsequent booking.
The FTA is the representative body for the transport interests of any company that moves goods by road, rail, sea or air and its members operate over 220,000 goods vehicles across the UK.
