Transport planning bosses keen to add to their fleet of vans may wish to plump for a Ford model after the firm was named the UK's most reliable manufacturer.
Fleet News magazine's annual reliability survey listed the company's Transit model as the most reliable van, topping the charts for the third year running.
The Transit Connect followed closely behind in third place in the poll, which questioned all of Britain's leading leasing companies and looked at more than one million different vehicles.
Stephen Briers, editor of Fleet News, said: "This survey is based on feedback from those who really know about the reliability of vehicles - people who run hundreds of thousands of vehicles over many hundreds of thousands of miles."
Ford's commercial director Steve Kimber added that he was delighted by the endorsement of the firm, with reliability now of paramount importance to fleet managers.
According to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, commercial vehicle production continued to fall in November as output plunged by 39.5 per cent from last month.
