Businesses and transport planning professionals may be among those who have expressed concern over the forthcoming fuel duty hike.
The government has proposed raising the cost of petrol and diesel by two pence, which has been opposed by a recent petition.
Used Car Expert has collected some 7,000 signatures in its campaign against the rise.
A poll by the publication showed 74 per cent of respondents felt the increase was a "serious concern", particularly for businesses, including transport planning firms.
Matthew Tumbridge, editor of the magazine, said: "Until there are realistic and affordable green solutions for every day families and those that need to drive for work it is unforgivable that the government continues to increase the already extortionate taxes on the motorist."
Furthermore, uSwitch.com has estimated that drivers will spend a cumulative £35 million extra on fuel in the next month alone as a result.
This could result in an overall spend of £1 billion by September 2011, the price comparison site stated.
