Mercedes-Benz UK has confirmed plans to return to the Commercial Vehicle Show with a full line-up of exhibitions next year following a successful 2010 event.
Organisers, exhibitors and visitors to the show at Birmingham's NEC Arena this month were quick to praise it as a "rip-roaring success", with the industry's current struggles failing to put a dampener on the event.
Ian Jones, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles, said his company was keen to follow up that success with a similar showing next year.
"If the Commercial Vehicle Show returns in 2011, so will we, and we plan to return to the NEC with a full range of products and services," he commented.
The event was cancelled in 2009 as a result of the global recession and the impact it had on the industry and this year's show had no truck manufacturers in attendance.
But Mr Jones said organisers have already revealed their intent to "reinstate the show proper" next year, adding that it is important to support the initiative.
Despite the lack of truck manufacturers in attendance, the 2010 Commercial Vehicle Show featured a total of 300 exhibitors and welcomed thousands of visitors from April 13th to 15th.
