Transport planning chiefs keen to add to their fleet of vehicles may wish to take note of the latest release from Volvo Trucks.
The manufacturer has unveiled a new version of the popular Volvo FM, which it says is "a complete truck in every sense of the word".
Among the changes made to the model are new grille and headlights, as well as anti-slip windscreen steps and interior improvements for added comfort and safety.
It also boasts a 13-litre engine and Volvo I-Shift technology that cuts fuel consumption by up to three per cent on the previous model.
Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Truck's European division, said the updated version will further strengthen the Volvo FM's reputation as the best in its class for regional transport.
"So much is already built into the Volvo FM in terms of comfort, safety and fuel efficiency, so it was more a matter of further fine-tuning, based on feedback we have received from customers," he commented.
Earlier this month, Milton Keynes-based hire equipment company Ace Plant took delivery of a new Volvo FM-440 8x2 truck as it sought to boost its operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
